VANCOUVER
A Weekend in Vancouver
April 11 - 13, 2025
Chantel hit a milestone birthday so naturally we had to venture of on an adventure to celly. Which birthday was it? We have to keep that a secret…kidding, we spill the number in the pod. (sorry, Chantel)
Anywayyys…here is our Vancouver hub. Find the in-depth deets, tips, tricks, and goodies that got left off of our packings & unpacking episodes.
PACKING
🇨🇦 Everything you need to know about traveling to Vancouver
Then we’re off to Vancouver, one of the most underrated cities in North America. We’ve got 5 fun facts (like why you can ski and swim on the same day 🌊🏔️) and 5 weird facts (yes, the Guinness beer family built a bridge). Plus, our plans for Chantel’s birthday trip: pet-friendly hotels, Henry’s first international border crossing 🐾, and what to expect with the new dog travel rules.
UNPACKING
Our weekend in Vancouver was fast, fun, and filled in the best way. Friday night was filled with a birthday cake adventure Saturday was a more leisurely vibe as we wandered around the city with Henry and ended with a chaotic hockey game. We wrapped it all up with a stroll through Granville Island and Stanely Park
Nightlife - Granville Street
By day, Granville Street is a fairly typical downtown stretch—a mix of shoppers, street performers, and the occasional guy trying to sell you knockoff sunglasses. But when the sun dips behind the mountains and the city lights up, Granville morphs into a neon-lit playground of music, mayhem, and memorable nights you might only sort of remember.
No Doorknobs Vancouver
Let’s talk about something gripping—literally.
Vancouver, that dreamy city of mountains, sushi, and Stanley Park squirrels with attitude, made an iconic design decision that left the world both confused and low-key impressed:
They banned doorknobs.
Century Park Hotel Review
Alright, let’s talk about Century Plaza Hotel. The place that won me over with solid vibes, free perks, and a warm welcome for both me and my furry sidekick.
Vancouver Restaurants Power Ranking
One of the top-tier travel perks? Unlocking new restaurants like you're in a foodie video game. So many dishes to devour, vibes to soak in, and cocktails calling your name. We ate our way through Vancouver and here’s how the lineup shook out from “eh” to “book me a table yesterday.”
Granville Island
If you’ve ever dreamed of a place where street performers serenade you while you juggle artisan donuts and fresh oysters, Granville Island is exactly that fever dream. Nestled under Vancouver’s scenic Granville Street Bridge (yes, a glamorous location if there ever was one), this quirky, colorful little peninsula is a full-on sensory overload in the best way.
